Dugo Nore: Sculptor

From the grassroots of Wahoo, Nebraska, Dugo Nore was born February 5, 1953. His early childhood was spent where the great plains meet the rocky mountains of Colorado. After moving to California in 1966, he spent most of the next twenty-nine years living on the west coast of northern California. He graduated from Humboldt State University, Class of 1977, with a Bachelors Degree in Art. Dugo then received Healing Arts Training at New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics in Albuquerque, Class of 1988-89. The year 1995 brought him to Bisbee, Arizona. There he expanded his horizons in the high desert of Southern Arizona and began sculpting marble. He is completely enchanted by this magical stone and feels he has begun a lifetime journey revealing some of the mystery that lies within it. Dugo returned to California in 2013, and lives in Nevada County. With decades of wood and stone carving background, he always looks forward to discovering the next layer in the mystery of either stone or wood. His artwork chronicles the changes and lessons in life’s path and his hope is for the universal qualities inherent in his art will inspire those touched by his vision.
